The Hermes Logistik Gruppe (HLG) will be extending its executive board with effect from 1 March 2009. The new senior manager with responsibility for finance, IT, HR security and facilities will be Dr. Philip Nölling (42), who will be joining Hermes from within the Otto Group. In his current position as financial vice president, he is centrally responsible for the finances of the worldwide-operating Otto Group.
"We are extremely pleased to welcome Dr. Nölling to the senior management team at HLG," says Harmut Ilek, chairman of the board at the Hermes Logistik Gruppe. "His considerable expertise in matters of management and finance will be a major boost to pushing our company ahead."
As of March 2009, Dr. Nölling will take over responsibility for the divisions finance, IT, HR and security and facilities from Frank Rausch, previously responsible for these areas, who has been heading Hermes Transport Logistics since July 2008.
"Hermes has been building on its success both nationally and internationally in recent years. The challenges presented by the European parcel market are now providing HLG with exciting prospects which we are looking to exploit to achieve further growth. I’m looking forward to rising to these new challenges and working together with the team," says Nölling.
After studying economics, law and economic geography in Hamburg and Heidelberg and achieving his doctorate, Dr. Nölling began his professional career in the finance division at the Otto Group. Here, he gained experience in various international projects in Asia before becoming head of strategic marketing for the Group in 2000. From 2001 to 2002, Dr. Nölling took a time out from Otto becoming commercial executive within the Bertelsmann Group in Munich. He returned to Hamburg in April 2002 to take on the position of vice president for Group finances within the Otto Group. His successor at Otto will be Boris Jendruschewitz.
