Service & Clients

Meeting highest quality standards with sustainable services

Customers are becoming more discerning when it comes to shipment and delivery opportunities. Transparency, flexibility and innovation are in more demand than ever before. In order to satisfy such requirements, we have been working constantly to develop our services. Not only are such matters as reliability and convenience of crucial importance, we have also been focussing on issues such as improving the quality of life in urban areas. The increasing pressure on cities prompted by traffic and the related noise and air pollution is triggering a major rethink – this is true of logistics, too. Hermes has seen the writing on the wall and is continually striving to shape responsible and future-proof logistics. In this sense, two issues are in particular focus: the expansion of digitisation and the use of alternative drives.

“In fact, when it comes to delivering parcels on the final mile, the customer is a two-pronged creature. She wants more and more online orders delivered to home as soon as possible. At the same time, however, she is also a resident and doesn’t like being disturbed by traffic in the neighbourhood. The growing environmental awareness could be a starting point to again recognise the value of parcel delivery and to differentiate offerings with different services at different prices."

100%

zero-emission deliveries in the downtown areas of the 80 largest German cities by 2025.

“The electrically mobile future has begun! In the medium term, we will bring 1,500 new electric transporters onto the road as part of a cooperation with Hermes that is unique in the industry. Our common goal is to make parcel delivery in major German cities even more efficient, productive and sustainable in the future. The yardstick: by 2025 we want to help Hermes deliver to customers in Germany’s 80 largest conurbations completely emission-free - and also optimise the parcel service of the future step by step together."
